Our Story

Zaevyul — meaning “delicate” in Kashmiri — is a for-profit social enterprise dedicated to restoring dignity to Kashmir’s artisans and reviving the centuries-old tradition of fine Pashmina craftsmanship. Rooted in the historic Pashmina trail, Zaevyul honors a legacy that begins in the highlands of Ladakh. There, the soft undercoat of the Changthangi goat is harvested, before making its way to Kashmir — where skilled artisans transform it into exquisite shawls, scarves, and stoles. Each piece is a tribute to patience, precision, and cultural heritage. We deeply respect the gendered division of labor in Pashmina production: women traditionally spin the yarn, while men weave. Our team of primarily women artisans hand-spin each strand of Pashmina with care and devotion, preserving ancestral knowledge with every thread. Zaevyul is more than a brand — it’s a platform where every stage of the Pashmina value chain comes together. From fiber to finished product, we manage our entire supply chain, ensuring authenticity, transparency, and traceability. The only exception is the sourcing of raw Cashmere, which we procure from the All Changthang Pashmina Growers Cooperative Society in Leh — a collective of Changthangi tribespeople. We believe in ethical fashion with impact. Our commitment to fair value distribution means that profits support the artisans who bring each creation to life. For us, profit is not the goal — it is a means to generate lasting social returns. We welcome collaborations with designers, retailers, and conscious partners to shape a more inclusive fashion narrative — one rooted in sustainability, ethics, and respect for craft. At Zaevyul, artisans are not behind the scenes — they are the soul of our story. We invite you to join our journey: one where art, tradition, and contemporary design converge to create beauty with meaning!
